After a long time

As is usual with me, I started blogging and then lost interest... So, what was I upto the last 3 odd months... well, there was work, and more of it... then, there was the latest harry potter book which I read on the second day... There was India winning the T20 cup... and in between, a whole load of F1 races that I missed... the cable guy who has a monopoly in my area does not show star sports...

Wimbledon Final

Oh... what a match... Lot of folks said that Federer is going to run over Rafa on grass... not to be... Federer played great on big points.... 2 tie-breakers won and twice he save 2 breakpoints in the final set... I had never seen Federer emote as much as he did during the final...

After the Sampras - Agassi rivalry, men's tennis gets a new rivalry at the top... Let's see what happen on the hard courts at New York...

F1 - French Grand Prix

Well.... Massa should have won this one.... this one was won and lost in the pitlane... Massa pitted... he encountered some backmarkers on his subsequent laps... Raikkonen pits then and comes out with the lead...

The Magny Cours track is okay but I think the newer tracks in Asia give more opportunities for overtaking... F1 is the number 1 motorsport but I feel that in addition to pitstops and stuff, tracks need to be such that you have lead changes on track when both drivers are racing.. Strategy is important but drivers skill should be tested on track...

I hate the qualifying strategy employed currently... older days were fun when all 20 cars were qualifying simultaneously... in this format, you have a bad 15 minutes and you could be starting at the back... why do they have to tinker with qualifying every year????

Wimbledon

Watched a match of Nadal Vs. Fish yesterday... Nadal seems to be adapting to grass better this year.... He was a lot more confident serve n' volleying than last year when he was on the baseline most times than not...

I hope we get a Federer - Nadal showdown in the finals... No one else seems capable of defeating Federer... Federer is good but I am bored seeing him win... I miss Agassi - he got a lively atmosphere to the tournament....
